    Halloween and fire are inextricable.
Whether you need glowing coals under your cauldron, or a burning witch, or just to feel warm on those chilly 90 degree Phoenix October nights, these glowing embers are just the thing!

    Sunday, July 23 at 10 AM - 2 PM
    HeatSync Labs
    140 W Main St, Mesa, Arizona 85201
Hosted by Amanda and Fay of Amandafay Productions
    $10 for all the materials

Here's a thought - once upon a time, a man might get strapped to a table. On his body, a cage was placed. There was no bottom on the cage, so his abdomen became the floor. Inside the cage was a rat or two. Burning coals were placed upon the top of the cage. The rats could only escape the heat by burrowing through the floor of the cage.
    Fun times!

The new site does not have RSVP. so we'll have to "RSVP" in the forum. Hope you enjoyed the build!

Does anyone have an "event report"? I would love to know how it went. I wasn't able to make it.
Calm? Do "murder" and "calm" go together? Calm and murder?

Nine people made glowing coals on Sunday suing lights, spray foam, and paint.
Fay and Amanda ran the show and did a great job. They had never made this before, so in preparation, they did the research and made a prototype weeks before the event - proving you don't have to be an expert to do a great job, you just have to be willing!
To start, we taped some "holiday lights" to a cardboard base. In the end, orange or clear seemed to work equally, and clear ones were cheaper.

Once the lights were attached, some people chose to "bulk up" the base by adding pieces of plastic drop cloth on top of the lights. Then it was time to cover with the spray foam!

Once dry, we painted the foam with red and black spray paint ...

Fay and Amanda did a great job preparing for the build, and presenting it too.
I think everyone who attended had a great time and brought home a cool looking finished prop!
