    Arduino - Make and Take

    So a few people have shown interested in learning how to build an Arduino Prop controller. It was suggested to me that we host a Make and Take for this little guy. At first I was very intimidated by how complex the build looked and put off building one for almost a year. When I finally got around to building one I found out that its super easy and wished I started sooner. Everything just plugs together with no soldering required. The free program is easy to use so you don't need to write any code! It all programs from your PC. Just to give you an idea of how cheap this little guy is, the cheapest MP3 controller that FrightProps sells is $90.00 with only 2 relays.

    To make this work I'll need anyone who wants to attend to buy all the parts first. I will provide links below for with the cheapest prices on ebay. Shipping from china will take about 1 - 2 months so its good to buy a few at a time so you'll have parts for your next builds. You can also find all the parts on Amazon for about double the price but you'll you get 2 day shipping.

    This setup is only for 12V and lower DC props. It can control AC with a small addition to the build we can cover later.

    Dupont Cable Jumper Wire 10 20 30 40cm F-M For Breadboard Arduino $3.92 (you will only need a few of these and one set will build a good few of them.) Make sure you get the M-F jumpers!

    New 5X DC 12V Power Supply Plug Adapter Connector (These are not required but help with connecting props to the controller)

    Feel free to shop around you may even find it cheaper than I did. Also, I would be more than happy to look at your shopping cart before you buy just to make sure its correct.

    This sounds pretty cool! I'm no stranger to soldering up custom electronics, but Arduino is new to me so I'd like to try it. Please keep us all posted!

    Just go into the Facebook group and show yourself as attend the event. Easy as that!
