    I happened upon the work of Susan Saladino recently. She says her artwork reveals a diversity of materials and mediums she utilizes to express a singular theme. I can't argue with that.

  2. Blinded by the Light

    Light illuminates, right? Not always.

    There are a number of ways light can be used to hide things you don't want others to see.

    Maybe the most common is the old "bright room before a dark room" trick.

    That's pretty simple. You force someone to go through a bright room, ruining their night vision, then the next room seems MUCH darker to them that it does to the dark adapted eyes of the actor in there. I have heard of,

    I can imagine an "electrician wanted" sign on a window or door in this room. Doesn't this tell you a great story? If you're a twisted haunter, perhaps it's also a FUNNY one! I know the ghost in this scene would be wearing overalls and carrying a screwdriver. Everything would be charred, every hair on her head would be sticking up, and smoke would be rising from it.

  4. The Imagineering Pyramid

    I've noticed a HUGE portion of the haunters in America have been firectly influenced by the Haunted Mansion at Disney. I suspect even more have been inspired by those haunters. It seems safe to say that Disney has therefore been a big part of Haunting in America in addition to all the other aspects of our lives it's influenced.

    I think we can all agree we live in a most extraordinary time. Through the miracle of internet, we have access to information, inspiration, and materials that would have been inaccessible only a few years ago.

    It is possible to find the works of avant-garde artists and make cheap copies for our own sinister ends!
